Utö is a small island in the southwestern part of the Stockholm archipelago. On this island, the Utö initiative was formed to help the Baltic Sea and four wetlands have been running since 2015, each with its own unique character. KTH conducts research at Utö on water purification, how to extract phosphorus from water and bottom sediments, and how sensors can send data in real time.

To go and see this amazing island and research initiative, a bus plus ferry is needed and one-way travel takes around two hours. The field trip will be from 9 am to 4 pm on 25 April 2024 and lunch is included for the participants. This visit has an extra cost of 450 sek per participant and a minimum of 10 participants should be registered in order to keep this activity.
